May General Meeting - Can you say Nymphalidea?

Very fun meeting this month thanks to Program Chairs Cindi and Beth. The monthly challenge of "jewelry" brought some interesting items including Lew's Knuckle Busters.

But the show stopper of the evening were the beautiful Nymphalideas, the CCS group knit along project, a free Knitty pattern as seen on Ravelry.

Beautiful! There's still plenty of time to knit and or finish yours. No time limit! Keep knitting and bring to any of the meetings. All the photos are uploaded to our Yahoo Group site.

The challenge for next month? Felted flower bowls. A great way to use up stash and handspun leftovers.

Lavender Sachets! Everyone learned how to knit an eyelet hem, a knit-in casing, and monk’s cord. Stuffed with fragrant dried lavender, these little sachets are perfect for tucking into a drawer, closet, or suitcase and make wonderful gifts. Thanks to our Program Chairs, Beth and Cindi for another fun project.

We had a fun meeting in April, very close to April Fool's Day but the projects displayed in Show and Tell were no joke. Check out some of these......

So check your jewelry box (or the local charity store) for an unused, unloved bracelet and give it a new look. There is always a drawing for a gift certificate to a local yarn shop for challenge participants. At the last board meeting it was decided that we are going to eliminate the gift certificate for Show and Tell from now on, so participating in the monthly Challenge is the way to go!

Fun meeting! But then again, they usually are. Our President is committed to very short business meetings leaving lots of time for show and tell and our monthly challenge. Our program chairs are keeping us busy. This month's challenge was in honor of the "Year of the Sheep" and featured an adorable sheep cup cozy.
